About the Disease
The emergence of the Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 Infection (PASC) or Long COVID among COVID-19 infected individuals continues to affect thousands of lives across the globe. After nearly five years since COVID-19 took place, many patients who acquired the virus continue to suffer from Post-COVID symptoms. It is now recognized as a disease entity in the ICD-10 Code. The said debilitating disease continues to impact Filipinos significantly, mirroring the global situation.
HFI’s Initiatives
As a response to this nagging health concern, Health Futures Foundation, Inc. (HFI) launched its Long COVID initiatives in November 2022 with the aim of spreading awareness on the said disease and promote accessibility and uptake of needed services. To date, the following are HFI’s accomplishments:
- Conducted a number of free webinars via Zoom or Facebook Live covering topics on Post-COVID symptoms, management techniques, and providing support to patients and targeting audiences such as patients, probable patients, healthcare professionals, and relatives/caregivers of the patients,
- Facilitated advocacy talks on radio shows,
- Launched social media campaigns,
- Established a support group for patients and their families, and
- Created a patient navigation system.
About the Registry of Consultants
In addition to the mentioned initiatives, Health Futures Foundation, Inc. (HFI) is thrilled to announce the launch of its REGISTRY OF MULTIDISCIPLINARY LONG COVID CONSULTANTS. The registry aims to connect patients to multidisciplinary Long COVID consultants who are compassionate and competent in providing appropriate treatment and management of Long COVID symptoms.
