On its 25th year, Health Futures Foundation, Inc. (HFI) has been bestowed two (2) illustrious awards in recognition of its community based health and wellness initiatives with marginalized communities.
HFI is one of five recipients of the distinguished Galing Pook Citizenship Award at recognition rites held at the Esplanade, Pasay City last 12 October 2023. The Galing Pook Citizenship Award is given to individuals and organizations who work at a grassroots level within existing democratic institutions and mobilize wealth from available resources to contribute to building safe, sustainable and smart (3S) communities.
Shortly after, HFI was given the DOH Healthy Pilipinas Gold Award for Partners in a ceremony held at the PICC Reception Hall in Pasay City last 27 October 2023. Alay sa Ginhawa at Kalusugan (ALAGA KA), HFI’s banner program, was cited for its health promotion initiatives in all three award categories: Health Literacy, Healthy Settings and Healthy Governance.
“These awards are affirmations of the work HFI has been doing for the past 25 years. They are an inspiration to further our mission of empowering the disenfranchised to achieve access, quality and equity in health and development and create more communities of wellness”, Ma Rebecca M. Galvez Tan, HFI Executive Director said.
