HFI holds a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of Dalima ALAGA KA BHS construction
For the residents of Dalima, Tuy, Batangas, there is indeed no better way to close the year than to welcome the construction of a new Barangay Health Station (BHS) which will soon be a primary health care hub for the residents of the barangay and its catchment areas.
That’s why on the afternoon of 01 December 2021, Health Futures Foundation, Inc. (HFI) held a simple groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of the Dalima ALAGA KA BHS initiative. In attendance during the ceremony were Tuy Mayor Randy Afable, Dalima Brgy. Capt. Hermino Sobrepeña, Municipal Engr. Isagani Residuo, Dalima Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), Dalima Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), VIDRO Builders representatives Ar. Dave Galang and Engr. Russel Galang, HFI Projects Management Officer Ms. Michelle Alyssa Ann Fortea, and HFI Project Associate Ms. Denise Morelos.
The groundbreaking ceremony formally opened with a short invocation led by Brgy. Coun. Silvina Cabatian. This was then followed by Dalima Brgy. Capt. Sobrepeña’s speech where he warmly welcomed the guests and attendees of the event.

Municipal Engr. Residuo, who also served as the host of the program, acknowledged the presence of HFI and Vidro Builders during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Tuy Mayor Afable graced the program with a message of gratitude to the donors who made the construction of Dalima ALAGA KA BHS possible.

Following Mayor Afable’s speech, the program proceeded to the laying down of the capsule on the ground where the BHS will soon rise, led by HFI Projects Management Officer Ms. Fortea, Tuy Mayor Afable, Dalima Brgy. Capt. Sobrepeña, and VIDRO Builders representatives.

The groundbreaking ceremony formally closed with a quick photo opportunity to memorialize the event.

The construction of Dalima ALAGA KA BHS is an HFI initiative in partnership with Sun Life Foundation, which aims to provide access to primary health care through the construction of eight (8) Barangay Health Stations (BHS) and implementation of Community-based Health and Wellness Programs (CBHWP) in Batangas in the year 2020.
With these interventions, the project is expected to benefit around 25,000 individuals, mostly from the far-flung barangays and marginalized communities.
