The construction of Concordia ALAGA KA Barangay Health Station (BHS) is now in progress!
Most low-income communities across the country depend on their Barangay Health Station (BHS) or health center for basic health services. Sadly, not all barangays have the infrastructure and capacity to provide quality healthcare for their residents.
While others struggle with their health center’s rundown condition and inadequate resources, there are some people who have not set foot nor seen a health clinic in their entire existence.
This is why the Concordia BHS, the 7th out of the 8 sites target sites of HFI under its flagship program, ALAGA KA (Alay sa Ginhawa at Kalusugan), is now being built in preparation for its operations this year.
Once finished, the health station is expected to provide free and quality healthcare to more than 1,500 residents of Concordia, Alitagtag, Batangas, and its catchment areas.
This initiative in partnership with Sun Life Foundation is aiming to help address these barriers which immensely affect the poor and underprivileged. Aside from building health stations, the organization also provides free training sessions for community health workers to improve the quality of services being offered to the residents.
Given these interventions, the project is expected to benefit 25,000 individuals, with the majority coming from far-flung barangays and marginalized communities.
