Wellness Heroes

Last 2017, HFI launched its Wellness Heroes project that aims to improve barangay health worker (BHW) and cluster leader service delivery in ALAGA KA areas.The project involves training of BHWs in different health-related topics. Donors of the Wellness Heroes campaign made the project possible.

Barake Barangay Health Workers Training

HFI conducted the training of 17 barangay health workers last 26-30 November 2018 at Barake Session Hall in Aborlan, Palawan. In addition to BHWs of Barake, participants from the barangays of Mabini and Magbabadil also received training on Acupressure, Medicinal Plants, and Vital Signs Assessment.

HFI organized a graduation program to formally recognize the completion of the training days of
the BHWs for each module. It was held on 30 November 2018 at Barake Health Station.
Seven BHWs, two HFI staff, Barake Midwife Ms. Mary Ann Dela Cruz, barangay officials and invited guests namely Brgy. Capt. Cerlita Emag, Councilor Jeaneth Apucay, and Councilor Roly Dela Cruz attended the event.

Other ALAGA KA Areas

Aside from Barake, ALAGA KA areas in Looc, Balete, Batangas; Malabanan, Balete, Batangas; Inalad, Motiong, Samar; Brgy. 5 Poblacion, Capul, Northern Samar; and  Landan, Polomolok, South Cotabato also received training from HFI.
