BHWs and ALAGA KA health cluster leaders lead health promotion sessions in San Jose, Tuy, Batangas
As COVID-19 vaccinations roll out in different parts of the country, the threat of virus infection is still a reality. Safety protocols must be followed for the full protection of every household as vaccines are not a substitute for health protocols.
To encourage more community members to stay safe while they are still waiting for their COVID-19 vaccines, Barangay Health Workers (BHW) Feliciana, Rosalia, and Crestelita, together with the HFI ALAGA KA (Alay sa Ginhawa at Kalusugan) cluster health leaders, organized a health promotion session on COVID-19 prevention for the 207 households of Brgy. San Jose, Tuy, Batangas as part of the Community-based Health and Wellness Programs (CBHWP) in the area.

Equipped with HFI ALAGA KA Behavior Change Communication (BCC) flipcharts and Labanan ang COVID-19 booklets, the BHWs emphasized the importance of wearing face masks and face shields, physical distancing, good ventilation, proper handwashing, and boosting immunity to protect their families and communities against COVID-19.

The health promotion sessions in the area were held last February to encourage more families in the community to follow minimum health protocols and prevent COVID-19 from entering their homes.
